Precision Brain Health Optimization
Prevention and Reversal of Cognitive Decline Program
We are at the precipice of a new era in brain health, where to have the science and knowledge to engage in better prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. As a geriatrician for the past 25 years, I have been in the trenches battling Alzheimer's and dementia. I have used all of the available traditional medications and treatments on the market with mixed success as they may help slow the progression, but inevitably the patients decline.
We Are At the Precipice of a New Era in Brain Health, Where to Have the Science and Knowledge to Engage in Better Prevention and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease
As a geriatrician for the past 25 years, I have been in the trenches battling Alzheimer's and dementia. I have used all of the available traditional medications and treatments on the market with mixed success as they may help slow the progression, but inevitably the patients decline.
Traditional drug treatment for Alzheimer’s disease focused on a handful of medications to slow down memory decline. The problem with the current model is that most of the therapies designed for the treatment focus on one therapy for the disease. We now realize that Alzheimer’s disease is not just one disease, it’s a spectrum of imbalances or a “network” dysfunction of body systems. Identification and restoration of the imbalances in these systems yield better outcomes in cognitive decline.
Although we still don't have a “cure” for Alzheimer's disease, we have novel science-based solutions to address the network dysfunction. We are making Alzheimer's disease a preventable and treatable disease just like heart disease and diabetes. Detection of brain dysfunction early on leads to earlier intervention and better outcomes.
The Genetics of Alzheimer's Disease: “Knowledge is Power”
Going beyond the APOE4 Gene
Scientists have long established and identified very rare genes that play a pivotal role in the development of Alzheimers disease. Now we have discovered a more common gene that predisposes someone to Alzheimer's disease called the APO - E4 gene. But the good news is if individuals with the the E4 genes have a lot of power over whether or not that risk materializes based on choices that they make. Especially if they make those choices early in life, long before symptoms set in.
Furthermore, genomics has identified over 250 genes that are linked to Alzhiemers disease and knowing your unique pattern, we can design a personalized roadmap to avoid expressing the genes associated with cognitive impairment
Their proof-of-concept trial included 25 participants, aged 50 to 76, all with MCI (pre-Alzheimer’s) or early-stage dementia. Each patient was assessed for multiple potential contributors — inflammation, insulin resistance, nutrient and hormonal deficiencies, specific pathogens, toxicants, and biotoxins, as well as genetics — then treated with a personalized protocol that was continued for nine months. This is the same approach used by Apollo Health, which has developed software and programs to optimize the precision medicine protocol for cognitive decline.
Dr. Kapoor co-authored an article with Dr. Sharon Hausman-Cohen demonstrating how he utilized genomics to dramatically improve cognition in one of his own patients in 6 months.
Dr. Kapoor is currently one of few practitioners in the country certified in ReCODE 2.0 for cognitive care, the primary foundation for cognitive care. Dr. Kapoor’s primary goal is to work with patients to prevent and reverse cognitive decline through a comprehensive brain strategy tailored to each individual’s needs.
For over 20 years, Dr. Kapoor has worked extensively with the few medications designed to slow down the rate of decline and memory loss and his experience. His background and training in ReCoDE, PreCODE programs, and of course, the Bredesen Protocol, have guided his precise approach to brain care, opening the doors from people all over the world to visit Dr. Kapoor and establish a plan that works for them.
In a recent study entitled “Precision Medicine Approach to Alzheimer’s Disease: Successful Pilot Project,” deep dives into each patient’s genetics and biomarkers were examined in order to derive the optimal personalized, precision medicine protocol for each. The study was led by three integrative physicians — Drs. Kat Toups, Ann Hathaway, and Deborah Gordon — along with Dr. Bredesen.

Fantastic doctor, kind and compassionate, listens and caresPosted on Google Stephen SurjikTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Kapoor demonstrates a great combination of contemporary scientific based medicine, with insights into the holistics of healthy eating and active lifestyle. He cares profoundly for the well being of his patients and has a wicked sense humor. Additionally, Sandeeps community service includes the distribution of research grants focused on specific cancer medicines, the training of cancer sniffing dogs and epidemiology studies about our cultural blind sided reliance on hidden mutagens in the food chain. More than anything, appreciate Sandeep Kapoor's dedication to his patients health. Thank you Sandeep.Posted on Google sam claybergerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Kapoor is a great doctor, very kind and compassionate.
